What are your contest plans for 2011?
As far as I know right now, I am prepping for The Ronnie Coleman Classic and Europa Orlando shows which are both in April. My next step would be possibly to do Europa Dallas in August or a show around that time. Although it deeply depends on how I look in April. So far my training in 2011 has been amplified to a whole new extreme level. I want to give a big shout out to Greg Green the owner of lockoutsupplements.com, which you can find the link below this interview or up on the seriousteenbodybuilding.com pages, I recently became a team Lockout sponsored athlete. The prices at lockout are unbelievably cheap, by far the best deals out there.
Who will you be working with for your 2011 contest prep?
Jonathon Irizarry is prepping me for The Ronnie Coleman Classic and the Europa Orlando shows, our prep so far has gone extremely good, I am currently 12 weeks out from The Ronnie and I feel confident that Jonathon will bring me in heavier and way more conditioned and full than I was last year at the Europa Dallas Supershow, where I took the teen overall title.
What does your diet consist of now at 12 weeks out?
Right now I am currently taking in all natural foods nothing that is processed. My diet at 12 weeks out consists of oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes, greens, chicken, lean ground beef, and fish. The biggest difference from my offseason diet to this contest prep has been the elimination of dairy products. In the offseason leading up to this prep, a lot of my cals came from 1% and 2% milk, up to a gallon a day. I saw good improvements from doing this as I could get in more calories, protein and some fats without having to eat more solid food meals. I also have eliminated fruit from my diet.
What training principles will you be implementing throughout your contest prep?
This off-season I started using a method called FST-7, for those of you that are not familiar with this training method. It targets weaker, lagging body parts and lets you get as much blood into the muscle. I have been using this method for 1 exercise at the end of training sessions. I have been using it for a few months and have seen great gains in not only muscle size but also fullness and overall hardness of the muscle. I plan to use this towards the show to come in a lot fuller and rounder with more cuts.
What are your main focuses during contest prep? Are there any weak points you will be trying to bring up? If so how will you adjust your training to bring up these areas?
After my lost contest, I headed into the offseason knowing that I needed to bring up my lower half. I feel that my legs have improved tremendously through the hard work and contest annihilation of “leg day.” Prepping for this contest Jonathon and I know that legs are definitely still a lagging area for me. We are focusing on breaking the quad and the ham into separate days to try to put an emphasize on my leg development and separation coming up to these shows.
What supplements will you be using for your contest prep?
As of right now, 12 weeks out my current supplements are:
Gaspari Size On (precontest version)
I am sure this stack will be changed in the near future, as we get closer to the show. All of these products can be found on lockouts’ website.
